Thunderbolt Thinking Technique:
BRAIN STRETCH
What is it? This is a different way to start off your meeting, that involves
each participant quickly. It also provides a stress-releasing toy (Play-Doh) for the
participants to play with during your meeting.
Why is it important? Its sets up an environment to help stretch, reshape, and remodel
your group's thinking process. It demonstrates how easily and painlessly we can
"remold" ourselves in order to develop fresh ideas. This is a wonderful remedy
for "stuckness."
How do I do it?
Using plastic Easter eggs filled with gobs
of Play-Doh, create a debate over which came first, the chicken or the egg. Establish
quickly that the egg came first.
Ask the participants to crack open their
eggs and pull out the Play-Doh. Have them pull, stretch, and mold the Play-Doh.
Explain that by stretching and reshaping
their thinking during the meeting, they will create a "chicken." Explain that
you would like them to "crack open" their minds and allow new ideas to emerge.
What are some ways to use this
TNT? This is a great way to kick off a breakfast meeting.
Use it as you begin to create a new service or product, develop a plan, or solve a
business problem.
