Thunderbolt Thinking Technique:
FLEXIBLE FOCUS
What is it? This technique helps you to deliberately change your perspective.
Why is it important? When you are mindful and aware, the "answers" that are right
under your nose become easily attainable and bring forth your courage, allowing you to
take action on new ideas.
How do I do it?
Before your next meeting, ask each
participant to bring a pair of outrageous eyeglasses, or supply them yourself.
At strategic times during your meeting, ask
participants to don the glasses and look at the current situation from a new perspective.
Use these trigger questions: How does it
look from this viewing point? What do you see? What is on the horizon?
What are some ways to use this
TNT? This technique is particularly applicable to
"visioning" sessions, when you are trying to create a strategic direction that
distills your message to its most important essence. It can also be used when the same
people have been working on a task or problem for more than three months--especially if
they are "experts." Ask them to refocus on their purpose and re-look.
